Hiiiii friends! Hope you are all enjoying October as much as I am. I am in LOVE with Fall; leaves changing colours, getting to wear all my boots again, drinking (more) chai tea lattes, pumpkins and Halloween! I could go on and on. Over the years I seem to have developed a huge fetish for over the knee socks and boots. I am obsessed with these ones that I purchased about a month ago from ALDO. Here is what I look for in tall boots:
Material: I prefer real leather (these boots are nubuck), which requires a bit more care but will last so much longer. A fake leather or suede boot will not stand up well to our harsh winter weather. I like to invest in boots that I can wear for atleast a few years.
Fit: Unless I am actually trying to go for a "slouchy" look which I'm usually not, I look for boots that are fitted to my legs. Nothing annoys me more than a baggy boot calf (haha "baggy boot calf" sounds so ridiculous but I don't know what else to call it). This can be difficult sometimes as everyone's legs are different sizes/shapes. These boots happened to fit perfectly, however, an easy fix is to look for a boot where the back portion is an elastic material so that there is some stretch and it is more fitted, see these boots for an example.
Heel: I am a fan of high heels, but if I'm going for an over the knee style I prefer either a flat boot or one with a lower heel like these so they are more subtle, wearable and less treacherous once the snow falls.
Happy boot shopping!
